Mila (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She holds a Master of Counselling degree from the City University of Seattle and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta. Mila is passionate about providing trauma-informed care, particularly to vulnerable populations, specifically LGBTQIA2S+ communities. She offers individual counselling services for adults and teens 12 and up.
Mila has previously worked in a wide range of frontline work, from criminal justice to teaching yoga. She had started her career journey providing crisis support to survivors of sexual violence. She had previously done reunification work with families and children and supported individuals returning to work after trauma. She specializes in working with trauma and OCD, using Exposure and Response prevention (ERP) and eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Mila’s approach to therapy is grounded in cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioural, existential and relational approaches. She works to identify strengths, and help others learn in grow in the face of oppression and adversity. She is mindful about how identity and intersectionality shape our lives and healing. She interweaves counselling with metaphor, storytelling and humour.
Mila is particularly passionate about providing targeted interventions to alleviate pain and suffering related to trauma and obsessive compulsive disorder. She works collaboratively and flexibly with her clients to find ways to navigate treatment that are gentle, sustainable and effective.
Mila works with adults and teens, specializing in trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and OCD. Mila integrates CBT, DBT, and existential therapy into her practice to help clients build resilience, cope with life’s challenges, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. Her inclusive approach is informed by her experiences as a queer, first-generation immigrant, welcoming clients of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures. Mila's practice is sex-positive and kink-informed, ensuring a safe and nonjudgmental space for all. Her approach to counselling is centered on empathy, respect, and a deep commitment to helping her clients find the support they need.
Mila’s counselling career started providing crisis services at the University of Alberta Sexual Assault Centre. She spent nearly a decade as a probation officer, working with a diverse client base, conducting risk assessments, and helping manage high-risk offenders. She had then worked as a yoga teacher, which set the foundation for her interest in mindfulness and bottom-up regulation. Mila’s clinical work included family reunification work through MCFD and supporting individuals recovering from trauma and injuries.
These experiences laid a strong foundation for her subsequent work, and now she focuses on helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, and OCD. Mila is committed to creating a supportive environment for her clients, drawing on her training in various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavioural Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
