Safe Space Counselling Services is proud to be a clinical practicum site for Master's students completing a clinical practicum for a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or a Master's degree in Social Work with a focus on clinical counselling.
Intake is now open. We are currently accepting practicum students for Spring 2025. The deadline to apply is February 15, 2025.
Note: Fall/Winter/Spring intakes only occur when we have openings and may not be offered every year. Please check this page for information regarding upcoming intakes. (Dates are tentative. Subject to change.)
Fall Intake: If we have Fall openings, information regarding Fall intake will become available May. The deadline to apply is June 15 for practicums begin August-September.
Winter Intake: If we have Winter openings, information regarding our Winter intake will become available September. The deadline to apply is October 15 for practicums beginning January.
Spring Intake: If we have Spring/Summer openings, information regarding our Spring intake will become available January. The deadline to apply is February 15 for practicums beginning April-May.

Our practice specializes in a wide range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth.
We also specialize in working with family-related issues such as parenting or family-related challenges, couples therapy for parent couples, and overcoming childhood wounds.
We employ evidence-based therapies tailored to individual needs such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals, couples and families, Narrative Therapy, and trauma therapies such as EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
Sessions typically last 50 minutes (or up to 80-90 minutes depending on the practitioner and therapeutic modality used). Fees vary based on the service and therapist.
