About

Michael Gelmon (he/him) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #8854). He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology and has been working as a counsellor since 2010. His primary modalities include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Existential, Rogerian and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Approach

Michael believes that our connection to nature and to each other is foundational to our well-being, and he supports clients with life transitions, identity development, grief/loss and attachment/relational challenges. His interest in nature and spirituality informs his practice as he has a deep appreciation for diversity and the unique life and experiences of each individual he meets.

Professional Experience

Since 2014, Michael has been working at the University of British Columbia as a Clinical Counsellor where he has supported students with a range of mental health and personal challenges.
