Approach

My approach is rooted in empathy and care that is collaborative and client-centered, creating an environment where clients feel heard and empowered. My current therapeutic approach is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which allows me to assist clients in experiencing and exploring their emotions in a way that supports their sense of a secure self. I am also currently utilizing Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) , and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Professional Experience

I am currently completing my Master of Counselling degree at City University and am under the supervision of Shalene Takara, MA, RCC. In my experience in the mental health field, I've supported families navigating parenting concerns with their young children, through an attachment based lens. I have also had extensive experience working with youth and young adults experiencing substance use, as well as supporting families and children with neurodiversity, including ASD and ODD.
